EU's unemployed youth threatened by social exclusion
Active inclusion of Young people: Employment as a tool against Exclusion and Poverty:

Better inclusion of young people in society and their full and active participation in the labour market, besides access to quality education and to social protection and services, are essential tools to reduce poverty and to improve the quality of life and social cohesion.

The European Council resolution stresses the crucial role of young people for Europe's prosperity as well as the cross-sectoral nature of youth-related issues and emphasises that the contribution of youth policy has to be fully integrated into the Europe 2020 Strategy.
